Customer Review: Stylish alternative to dorky ear-muffs
What I really love about these ear-mitts is that they are camouflaged so easily. I usually look like a dweeb when I wear regular ear-muffs but these are soo well hidden and stylish (if you wear your hair loose…plus I have dark hair) They pinch slightly after wearing them for a while, sort of in the way iPod earphones start pinching. I have reaaally small ears so it may be worse if you have larger ears (I bought the regular size). They definitely aren’t as toasty warm as other bulkier ear muffs, but they do the job (great for fall, but I doubt I’ll be able to use these in the middle of winter) The fact that they are SO convenient to carry around and use (just keep them in your purse) helps compensate. All in all, these are a decent buy but don’t count on these to be your primary source of ear protection during winter. Oh, and the company that ships them is sooo great…they sent them really fast and added a personalized hand-written note with the receipt thanking me for my purchase…who does that nowadays! :-D

Customer Review: helpful in the winter
I enjoy these because I can’t stand having any kind of pressure around or over my head. The headband ear covers, over the head ear muffs or around the back of the head ear muffs cause me a great deal of pain. The only reason I did not give these 5 stars is that they are a bit itchy to wear. It must be the Teflon…?
Customer Review: Work well.
I got these as something I can take with me in the car or when traveling, so when it’s colder than expected and I wish I’d brought a hat, I can take care of the most urgent need, the ears. They go on and off fine, seem pretty secure, and are cozy. The main concern is that because they take up so desirably little space, it’s easier to lose one or both of them than it is to lose a hat. My wife thinks they a mildly silly looking, but hey, they work and they are convenient, I recommend them.

Customer Review: Simple, effective
These work great alright for the right application. I’ve been using them for about two years now and as mentioned in the other reviews, great for tactical applications, and decent for motorcycling. For plain open range they’re great. For CQC/tactical applications it’s not quite perfect but the best I’ve used so far. I’ve also used Peltor SWAT Tac but found that the stereo noise amplifier at low levels didn’t work as I’d like it. During training evolutions, I often heard noise coming from one direction that were in fact coming from another, very bad. This never hapens with the EP3s as they are not amplified. They’ don’t offer as much dB protection and firing in closed quarters will leave your head buzzing. But I’d rather have buzzing ears after the fact than not hearing someone coming from around a corner. A quick removal of the “Hocks Noise Braker filter” also allows the inserting of generic sound tubes and makes for a solid comms ear piece. I must be on my fifth or sixth set now (simply because I lose them) and will continue to use them until something better comes along.
P.S. If you wonder what size to order, go for the medium. We purchased all three sizes to outfit our team (16) and all but one (large) use the mediums.
